I recently took Nel’s Tango DJ course and enjoyed it so much! During the time it ran, it became the day of the week I looked forward to the most.
Nel has a deep knowledge of Tango music, its history, the orchestras and musicians, and also the technology behind sound and recording—a subject I didn’t realize was so important for DJing until this course. His lectures were well-structured and covered everything from musical history and organizing tandas to software, equipment, and sound quality. One topic I found especially valuable was the attention given to lyrics and the themes of vocal songs when building tandas—it really helped elevate the level of musical selection, especially for Spanish-speaking dancers who connect deeply with the words.
He was always patient and happy to answer every question. And at the end of the course, Nel generously shared his high-quality music library, which was an amazing bonus.
It was also a great experience to learn from someone based in the very heart of the Tango world—Buenos Aires.
I highly recommend this course to anyone taking their first steps into the world of Tango DJing.
