Before Nel’s course, Tango music felt like an ocean I was dancing on the surface of. Through him, I learned to dive beneath the waves—and what I discovered below changed everything.
Taking Nel’s online course on Tango music was a truly transformative experience. I gained a deep and structured understanding of the different orchestras, their styles, and the historical evolution of Tango music. Time flies during his classes, which are very informative, interesting and rich – and fun! I also love to have the possibility to watch the recordings when I couldn’t attempt the class.
There are many online classes now on tango. But what truly sets Nel apart, for me, is not just his vast knowledge—it’s the way he embodies Tango. He lives it with such passion and authenticity that it’s impossible not to be inspired 🙂 When listening to Nel you might end up thinking that he has himself lived during the Golden age of tango and that he knew Troilo and Gardel personally 😀 Through his teaching, he ignited something beautiful in me: a fire, a deep curiosity, and a renewed love for the music.
This course didn’t just teach me about Tango—it changed the way I feel it. My connection to the music while dancing has deepened profoundly. I now experience the dance on an entirely new level, much more emotionally connected and in tune with the music.
And not only that—my way of listening to Tango music has changed as well. I now hear with more awareness, with more depth, and with a sense of presence.
It truly opened a door for me into an entirely new world—one where each note tells a story, and each orchestra paints a different emotional landscape. Meeting Nel was a life-changing moment. I believe Tango will continue to be a strong and meaningful connection. Through Tango, I feel fully present—while honoring everything that brought me here and releasing what lies ahead.
As Aníbal Troilo once said:
“El tango es una manera de vivir, de sentir, de sufrir y de gozar.”
Tango is a way of living, of feeling, of suffering, and of rejoicing.
Thank you, Nel, I finally understand what that truly means.
